I posted some images from Big Spring in the Great Trinity Forest back in May. It is in a very special, yet sensitive part of the forest. This general area was once again in the news for the unfortunate draining of one of the many hidden ponds in the GTF that harbor so much life and diversity.
Here is a pic from a spring “wildflower show” not far from the drained area.
Wildflower field, Big Springs historical and natural area, Great Trinity Forest, Dallas, Texas, USA. Canon 1Dx. 26mm. ISO 160. 1/250 sec. at f/5.6. EV -1. Flash. I underexposed the overall exposure and then lit up the foreground flowers a bit more in order to create a slight spotlight and a bit more drama.
