One of the great treats of the western prairies are encounters with pronghorns. They are amazingly curious. They will stare at you, and even approach you to figure out what you are. And when they decide to run – wow! They have some serious speed!
I got lucky in Vermejo last week as this pronghorn was grazing quietly, bathed in the soft pastels of pre-dawn light, not at all bothered by me.
