Ok. Let’s get this Photo of the Day thing going.
In honor of the upcoming Day of the Dead, and all things creepy and mysterious, I am going to start with a few days of images from Day of the Dead “comparsas” and events in Mexico and Guatemala.
First is a grim reaper pic from a Day of the Dead parade in a small town near Oaxaca, Mexico.
It is a dusk to dawn procession through the streets of this small town, with revelers and musicians and costumed people weaving in and out of every square inch of this town. It is quite the site.
The light is dim and the scenes are surreal, just the way I like it.
I love shooting these kinds of images. These are long exposures, you have to pan carefully, and you can’t be afraid to fail.
Feel free to share with friend, and note in the right column where you can subscribe to feeds on Facebook, Twitter, RSS, or just a good old fashioned, albeit somewhat annoying daily email notice. I will eventually have print specials and more, but for now – just a Photo a Day.
If you like these images, I have just posted a full gallery on my porftolio page.
