Last week at Daingerfield State Park in East Texas, I stumbled upon a patch of forest floor with moss, newly fallen leaves and pine cones. I love the mix of colors and textures, and for still-life images like this, I sometimes like to get the tripod directly over the still life and shoot down, keeping the ground parallel to the camera sensor and ensuring complete depth of field and a totally sharp image.
