Today was sort of damp and dreary, making me yearn for a little color. In Costa Rica, at a garden near the big volcano, I found this beautiful heliconia and shot it as a pattern. I shot it backlit against a fairly dark background, which allowed me to overexpose the foreground and get that nice backlit effect around the edges. If you want color, it is hard to beat Costa Rica.
