I am out of town trying to photograph whooping cranes on the Texas coast, but just heard about the death of Nelson Mandela. He is a hero to me and his autobiography, Long Walk to Freedom, is incredible.
Here is an image from South Africa that perhaps captures a bit of the spirit and dignity exemplified by Mandela and the people of that great country. The United Nations has used this image quite a bit.
