When you move your camera during an exposure, all kinds of things can happen.  Usually you don’t mean to, and thus you get a blurry picture.  That’s usually bad.

But if you move the camera deliberately, say, slowly upward during along exposure, then you can get some really neat results.  Here is a 2 second exposure on the Nature Conservancy’s Ordway Prairie in South Dakota.
