One nice thing about not having much light is you can do creative motion-blurs more easily, and sometimes that is all you can do.

As these sandhill cranes walked about,  I moved my camera and lens along with them. – “panning” at the same speed and clicking away.  You never know what you are going to get, so shoot a lot.

Plus the shutter is closed during the exposure (on SLR cameras), so you have to just keep moving along slowly and hope you get one that works.
