Landscape photographers don’t get to eat when everyone else eats.  Take dinner. On a nice day, the light gets good before dinner, say 3 hours before sunset, and then you have at least 30 or 40 minutes of great post-dusk light to really shoot. Then if you shoot stars , you can be out a couple more hours. And you miss dinner.

But a little hunger is worth it. because the light at the edge of the day is special.
