I like insects. And I really like spiders. They are just so mysterious and amazingly well adapted to survive. In North America, one of the most feared spiders is the brown recluse. Much of their reputation is not deserved, however, and they get blamed all the time for damage they did not cause.  (80% misdiagnosed, apparently).

Indeed, they hate to bite anyone. In 2001, over 2,000 brown recluse spiders were removed from a Kansas home, yet the four who lived there were never bit. Wow.
