It has been a busy year for me and time to get back to blogging. I have been shooting quite a bit recently for Texas Highways magazine, and they sent me to Big Bend last fall to photograph several stories for their January 2019 issue celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Big Bend National Park.
I photographed a story called Big Bend and the Music Fan where author Matt Joyce and I floated down the Rio Grande with Far Flung Adventures and founder Steve Harris. At night we were serenaded by Texas musician Miles Zuniga. It was great fun, except for the rain. The second part of my assignment was to shoot Big Bend from the viewpoint of how anyone can experience its charms. For that, I looked for people and families experiencing Big Bend.
In all, it was a lot of fun and the final issue looks great. I will be sharing more images, videos, and stories about the trip in the coming days.
If you want to see some more, Texas Highways just posted a slideshow of my images from the assignments that did not make the printed issue.
Great photos. Have enjoyed your pictures in a few of the last issues. Did I see some possible self photos in some of them. There was this familiar profile of someone looking away that reminded me of you. Keep up the good work.
