Kingwood Photo Club

Prairie blazing star (Liatris pycnostachya,) in bloom on Lawther — Deer Park Prairie, Deer Park, Texas, United States, USA. The Native Prairies Association of Texas (NPAT) owns the prairie through a conservation easement with Bayou Land Conservancy.

I will give my “Photographing Prairies” presentation to Kingwood Photography Club. My intent is to introduce more photographers to the joys of photographing native prairies and encourage them to create compelling images that will in turn help others appreciate and conserve those prairies. I focus primarily on Texas prairie ecosystems, but do include images from Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, New Mexico, and Illinois. Kingwood is in the midst of the beautiful and highly endangered Texas coastal prairies.
