Want to photograph birds, wildflowers and landscapes in the heart of the Texas Hill Country? Need help with your digital workflow (including Lightroom?).
Join me at Block Creek Natural Area, (BCNA) south of Fredericksburg for a long weekend of nature photography and digital tutoring. I just had my last two spaces open up, so contact me quickly if you are interested. Size is limited to 5-6 people.
BCNA has first class bird blinds, beautiful hills and creeks, rustic old barns and windmills, and is in one of the prettiest areas in all of the Hill Country with close access to Hill Country rivers and bridges. Participants can photograph either wildlife or landscapes early and late. We will spend the rest of our time on digital workflow as a class or in personal tutoring time.
I will focus will on Adobe Lightroom workflow issues in particular. This is a great opportunity for one on one help with Lightroom. Each participant may also schedule time for individual help on digital or any other photography issues, portfolio review, etc. Your option, just ask!
Using Adobe Lightroom, we will cover the full photographer’s workflow, with time for individual tutoring and assistance as well.
Thursday. Arrive by 3pm. Settle in and start with general presentation. Photograph nearby at sunset and return for dinner.
Friday. Photograph early and late. Class time will involve presentation and help sessions on image management, file naming, folder systems, using ratings and labels, mastering Collections and adding metadata.
Saturday. Photograph early and late. Class time will involve presentations and help sessions on digital processing and outputting images efficiently.
Sunday. Wrap up loose ends, final questions, and share some images from the week in a Lightroom slideshow.
All inclusive cost is $1900. $475/day/person (includes the workshop and my instructional services, lodging, meals, ranch and photo blind).
For spouses, partners and companions not taking the workshop, BCNA is conveniently located near the charming towns of Fredericksburg and Comfort, as well as historic Luckenbach and lots of wineries and shopping destinations. Inquire about additional food or lodging and I can check with BCNA.
Feel free to call or email me for more info or to register. My cell is 214.213.4193.
The bird blinds at BCNA are excellent. They maintain them well, with fresh bird feed and water. The blinds offer lots of opportunities to shoot birds in native Hill Country habitat, rather than just on an isolated perch. I really like that!
Check out my little timelapse video of a shoot from BCNA over two afternoons in June of 2017. I took about 1500 images as the light shifted in and out, and it even rained.
