The Great Trinity Forest is easily explored by canoe. It is sometimes hard to believe you are just a few miles from downtown Dallas.

Exploring the Great Trinity Forest on foot or on bike can seem daunting.

Much of the Forest is in a floodplain of the Trinity River, which floods frequently and washes out trails.

Trailheads are not all easily accessible and the forest itself can be incredibly dense. The City is still building a trail system.

Resources are out there that make it a bit easier to start one’s exploration.

It’s worth it!
